Greek Assembly Hall Graduate Assistantship
The Graduate Assistant (GA) position with Greek Assembly Hall (GAH) is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in management and event planning. Greek Assembly Hall fosters an environment that supports growth and development of students through active engagement at the Greek Assembly Hall facility and the management of programming held by the United Greek Council and National PanHellenic Council. This role helps facilitate an environment conducive to events, scheduling, and managing student conference coordinators. They also facilitate community building activities and special occasion programming.
GAH Graduate Assistants will work alongside Student Engagement staff to help with staffing, planning, and implementing event setups and building protocols for inclement weather.
Position Details
- 20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
- Compensation includes monthly stipend for nine months, full in-state/out-of-state tuition scholarship and optional paid student health insurance.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a graduate degree program (as of August 2025) and remain a full-time student through the duration of the appointment.
- Membership in a United Greek Council (UGC) or National PanHellenic Council (NPHC) organization is strongly preferred as a consideration for interested candidates.
Responsibilities
- Help plan and carry out set-ups/breakdown of events and activities, held within Greek Assembly Hall
- Serve as primary point of contact and manage Building Managers and Conference Coordinators
- Create schedules, review booking software for events, and manage communication between clients and building staff
- Help facilitate upkeep of the building, to include reporting any major issues with technology, building operations, or equipment.
- Facilitate regular meetings with staff and students to collaborate and learn and attend regular meetings/trainings facilitated for their benefit as well.
- Provide support to the unit of Student Engagement, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the UA Student Center.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with management, supervision, or event planning
- Team player, flexible, responsible, dependable, self-motivated, creative, and strong time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to present information through a variety of modes of communication effectively.
- Interest in and knowledge of NPHC/UGC organizations and their potential for greater campus impact.
- Experience leading or being part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), Qualtrics and SPSS.

Staff Development Graduate Assistantship
The Graduate Assistant (GA) position in the Staff Development Program offers valuable experience in managing professional development initiatives and event planning within the Division of Student Life. This position provides hands-on experience working closely with the Director of Staff Development to support 275 staff members. The role involves planning and executing staff development programs, onboarding new hires, assisting with staff meetings and events, and researching current trends in staff development. The GA will also contribute to assessing programs, retention, and employee development, while coordinating continuing education opportunities on campus. The position offers the opportunity to engage with 1,600 student employees and contribute to their learning outcomes, while also supporting event logistics and administrative tasks.

- Serve as the speaker liaison and coordinate with presenters.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Majoring in Higher Education Administration, Communications, or a related field.
