Premier Awards

The Premier Awards comprise the six highest honors given at the Capstone. Outstanding juniors are eligible to apply for the William P. Bloom and the John Fraser Ramsey Awards. Graduating seniors may apply for the Algernon Sydney Sullivan, Catherine J. Randall, and Morris Lehman Mayer Awards. Members of the teaching faculty may be nominated for the Mayer Award, while members of the faculty and staff are eligible for the Sullivan Award. The Judy Bonner Presidential Medallion may be awarded to students or non-students. For students, each award comes with a monetary prize.

Student Life Scholarships

Each year, the Division of Student Life awards hundreds of scholarships to students from all academic disciplines.

In 2025-2026, the Student Life Scholarship Committee awarded

$261,849 in scholarships to

234 deserving students.

Scholarship Application Process and Award Notification

To be considered for Student Life competitive scholarships, current students must submit both the UA and Student Life scholarship applications before the deadline each year (usually March 1 for scholarships awarded the following academic year).

Competitive scholarships are awarded based on the holistic review of the students’ academic and non-academic profile provided on their scholarship applications and any additional criteria for the scholarships. Academic components include GPA and academic honors. Non-academic items include leadership experience, volunteer experience, extracurricular activities, employment and non-academic honors.

When completing the scholarship applications, students should include as many details in each section as space allows and, if possible, answer the short answer questions about extenuating circumstances and optional other information. The more information students provide in the application, the more competitive their application is in the process.

If awarded, students will receive an email, typically during June or July.

Scholarship recipients are expected to submit a thank-you note and may optionally upload a video message to the donor(s) who made their scholarship possible.
